The Presentation Night will be held in the Marykirk Hotel on Friday 10th August 2012, from 7:30. All race captains and teams are invited (as well as any other interested parties!), and cheques for the various charities and groups will be distributed.

Marykirk raft Race Day Sunday May 20th

All you Rafters out there I hope you have or are in the process of collecting your Race packs which can be picked up from the Marykirk Hotel or the Mearns Hardware Store in Laurencekirk.

We are planning another fun packed day for all the family this year with some new ideas and also keeping some of the tried and tested ideas.

The biggest news for rafters this year is we have access to the Marykirk Hall this year which will provide us with Male and Female Toilets and Changing room's, but the best bit is you can all have a hot shower after being in the River.

We will also be using the Hall for Craft's and Stalls in the main hall.

Marykirk Raft Race presents a Snail Race Night 31/03/2012

Marykirk raft Race committe would like to remind everyone that we have a Snail race Night organised on Saturday 31/03/2012. Entrance is free and on a first come first served basis, there will be 8 Snail races with Stovies at Half time. So come along and participate in the fun.

Raft Race Packs

Just to let all you budding Rowing Olympians out there know that Race Packs will be available soon from the Marykirk Hotel as normal, We will also have Race Packs available from the Mearns Hardware Store in Laurencekirk. We can Post these Packs out to you if you live further afield please contact us through the contact page of the Website with postal address.

Again we will be planning a fun raft race and an Elite raft race for the more competative of you out there.

Family Snail Racing Night at the Marykirk Hall 31/03/12

The Marykirk Raft Race would like to present a Family Snail Racing night on Saturday March 31st starting at 19:00. This will be a Race night to remember as it is for all the family, the Snails are animated from Fundeo.co.uk.

We will have Stovies available at the half way interval, There will be no bar but please feel free to bring your own refreshments.

Entry is free to this event at the Marykirk Hall.

Quiz Night at the Marykirk Hotel 10th December

With the Burlesque Night still a hot topic in the Village and surrounding area, there is no time for the Raft Race Committee to rest on there laurels after such a successful evening.

The Marykirk Raft Race Committee would like to remind all of the Quiz night to be held on the 10th December 2011 Starting at 20:00 hrs, be there sharp to get your seat to avoid dissapointment.

Feel free to dress festively as there will be some Christmas questions in there.

Burlesque 18th November Marykirk Hall

The Gig that Burlesque performed at the Marykirk Hall on November 18th 2011 was a huge success, Burlesque are a fantastic band and the whole night was buzzing.

The Marykirk Raft Race Committee cannot thank Burlesque enough for providing an exceptional evening of music that had everyone's feet tapping and dancing the night away.

The Committee would also like to say a big thank's everyone who came to the night and to all the people who helped set the Hall up and clean the Hall afterwards.

A big thanks to the people who helped on the Night to ensure a fun enjoyable evening was had by all.

Lastly a big thanks to Chris and the Bar staff for keeping everyone's glass topped up, a fantastic job done.

A new year, a new committee, and lots of events.

The committee was voted in at the AGM, and we welcome back Simon Roberts, as well as wecoming new members Bruce Tait, Andy Ogilvie and Adam Rhoney. We also thank Charles Gordon who ran our PR for the last two years, but has decided to retire from this committee to focus on other activities.

We have planned:

Two pub quiz nights - the 22nd of October, and the 10th of December, both at the Marykirk Hotel.
We have booked Burlesque - a six part band - to play in the Marykirk Hall on November 18th.
And we are in the middle of planning a Ceilidh night in the hall in December. More news on this later.
